I used Hubner's Silicea colloidal gel early last year in the hope to improve my skin hair and nails. I took it as directed. I was expecting improved elasticity of skin a reduction in acne and stronger and thicker hair and nails with no side effects. It sounded too good to be true because it was. A month after I started taking the supplement I noticed changes in my hands and my circulation. I've always had cold hands but as winter approached my fingers started to turn white blue and a swollen red. I went to the doctor and he said I had an auto immune problem called Raynaud's phenomena and that it could be linked to other diseases such as scleraderma, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis and that I needed a blood test to check. He sent me to a rheumatologist once we got the results back. Both practitioners wanted to know what was different about my behaviour from the last year to then. I said nothing except for taking silica. I also read that there have been studies linking these types of auto immune diseases to too much silica in the body. Results are not conclusive of course but I know my body. I believe that my symptoms are because of this product. Scientists are already looking into links between silica and these diseases for a reason. Hairdressers frequently recommend this product to their clients and my friends recommended it to me.
